I have been a happy user of Sigma lenses (Canon mount) for several years. I currently have the following Sigma lenses: 105mm macro, 150mm macro, 15mm fisheye, and 10mm fisheye. The 105mm lens is compact and light, and I tend to take it on travels instead of the 150mm lens.
A couple of weeks ago I discovered that the 105mm lens would no longer work in the AF mode with any of my cameras. I shipped it (by UPS) to Sigma in Ronkonkoma, NY, for repair and did not bother to include any information about the warranty since the lens is seven years old. A couple of days later I received a repair order number. When I called Sigma to inquire about the status of the order, I was told that the lens had already been repaired at no charge and had been shipped back to me. Sure enough, I received the lens with a one week turn around time, and it appears to be fine. The packing slip shows that the AF belt was replaced at no charge.
Needless to say, I am very pleased with the support of the 105mm lens by Sigma. By the way, I used this lens in a series of experiments with various accessories that are reported in Appendix E of SCP. If you happen to use the table in that appendix, note that the rows should have been numbered. The row numbers correspond to the numbers in Fig. E.1.
